On festival day most of the events and entertainment are free, we are though collecting for 2 local charities in a Tombola and a Street Collection, we would appreciate if you could give generously.
The Renal unit at the Cumberland Infirmary, was chosen as the charity to donate the proceeds of the tombola to, as a member of our team recently underwent a successful kidney transplant, and the care and attention he has received has been exemplary. The unit aims to provide a high quality multi-disciplinary service that is accessible to the local population. The items donated by local businesses are very much appreciated and range from a Spa package at Armathwaite Hall/meal vouchers to bottles of wine, so come along at the festival and. try your luck to win some amazing prizes
The RNLI will be making the Workington lifeboat station open to visitors. The new Shannon class lifeboat” Dorothy May White” will be on display alongside the inshore rescue boat “John F Mortimer” and the RNLI Cumbria community flood rescue team. Members of the team will be available to answer questions. Visitors will be able to access the lifeboat station on the special bus service from the centre of the town, where there will be an opportunity to meet the RNLIs fundraisers and contribute to this well respected national charity
